You can take into Germany most personal effects and the following items duty-free: one video camera or two still cameras, a portable radio, a tape recorder, and a laptop PC, provided they show signs of use; 400 cigarettes, 50 cigars, or 250 grams of tobacco; 2 liters of wine or 1 liter of liquor per person 18 and over; fishing gear; one bicycle; skis; tennis or squash racquets; and golf clubs.
In Germany certain goods, such as pharmaceuticals, narcotics, but also media likely to harm minors and unconstitutional media are subject to restrictions or bans. You must declare funds of 10,000 EUR or more.
Products of animal origin, not originating from an EU Member State, Andorra, Liechtenstein, Norway, San Marino, Switzerland or the United Kingdom, are not permitted to be imported into an EU Member State, with the exception of limited amounts from Andorra, Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland and small amounts of specific products from other countries.
The import of certain plants is prohibited into Germany (i.e. potatoes, vines, wineleaves etc.). Import of fresh meat and meat products from: CIS countries, Portugal, Sardinia, Spain, Turkey and all countries of Africa and Asia is prohibited. From other countries: allowed up to 1 kg; game and poultry up to 30 kg.
Visitors carrying weapons entering Germany need a permit issued by the competent weapons authority.
